Along with Medicaid, we now also accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NC, MedCost and Cigna insurances.
Other insurances are pending.
Animal Welfare is now under the Sheriff's Department effective 07/01/2023. Please call 252-534-1125 with calls regarding animal rabies vaccinations, adoptions, rescues, lost pet inquiries, etc.
For Animal Control calls concerning animal cruelty, pick-up, complaints, etc. please continue to call 252-534-2611.

Cooperative Extension Service and Northampton County Health Department are collaborating to provide support for the citizens of Northampton County with the goal of encouraging, through education, supportive services and proven strategies that work to support healthier lifestyles. This support group is FREE to any Northampton County citizen. Each participant must register and be open to learning new and exciting methods to improve their overall health. Due to the recent health pandemic, our support group will meet virtually over the internet via Zoom and/or the Zoom phone chat line. Our standing meetings are always the first Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. All group members must register to participate.

The Northampton County Board of Health meets on the second Tuesday of every other month at 7:00 PM in the Health Department Conference Room. The General Statutes (G.S. 130A-35) mandates that certain disciplines, if available within the County, are represented on the Board of Health. Board members can serve as many as 3 consecutive 3-year terms before rotating off the Board. Existing Board members are eligible for re-appointment at the end of each 3-year term.
