The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) provides breast and cervical screening, referral and follow-up to Northampton County female residents who meet required criteria.
Who is eligible?
- Women who are at or below 250% of the Federal poverty level, uninsured, underinsured, and do not have Medicare Part B or Medicaid insurance. Special emphasis is placed on recruiting minority women ages 40-64 years.
- The Wise Woman Program is for BCCCP participants age 40-64. BCCCP clients who wish to participate in Wise Woman are enrolled during their BCCCP visit.
- The aim of this program is to help women reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke through screenings, education, and referrals.
- Cardio vascular education is provided on 3rd Tuesday at the Gaston trailer site and 3rd Thursday at the Health Department.
